I liked how Sushi Kuni had a cute, traditional vibe. I enjoyed the service and ambiance. The outdoor seating was great, with umbrellas and a cute little patio area. I like that there are a lot of affordable options on the menu. Some of the rolls do go up to $20 prices, but there were also $9 rolls. We were looking for a little snack, and ordering two of the cheaper rolls was perfect for us. The fish was fresh and soft. I'd love to try more of the fancy rolls and dishes in the future!

I've been going to Sushi Kuni for a long time and I love this restaurant. The restaurant is relatively small but there's still a good amount of seating both indoors and outdoors. The waitresses are so kind and patient. On top of this all of the food is so good, my personal favorites are the spicy tuna, salmon delight, and rainbow roll. Their small dishes are very good and their udon is delicious as well.

My family and I have been coming here for a while. It is one of the better quality Japanese restaurants out there. Very small shop but the servers are so sweet and they serve great quality seafood. I particularly like their oysters, they put some sort of topping and sauce on them that makes it unique and taste so good. Their toro is also very yummy. Nice and fatty and melts in your mouth. We also love getting their appetizers and cold udon as part of our meal. Would recommend even for take out to eat at home! We picked up food around 6:30pm and we had to wait a little for the food to be ready but we also ordered a lot of food.

Came here on two separate occasions. The first time, came alone for a solo dinner and ordered their special dinner combo. I sat at the bar and it was such a great deal AND I was so full!! I even had some leftover tempura that I took home. The sashimi was the star for me and I would recommend that combo all day. The second time, I came with a friend for a chill dinner date and we ordered a few items off of their special "new items" kind of menu. They were delicious and perfect for sharing of course. The inside can be very quiet when empty but even when full it seems that most people are respectfully not too loud as the space is on the smaller side. So the time I went with my friends, we sat outside as to not be too loud. Service is so kind, friendly, welcoming, and responsive.. I'm sure I'll be back again soon !!

I came here with my mom & a few of her friends for lunch. It's a cute hole in the wall that's clean and has very traditional Japanese decor, which I loved!! There's a good variety of dishes here, my group opted to order salmon teriyaki and beef teriyaki lunch specials (with salad and miso soup), a chirashi deluxe bowl, salmon sashimi, salmon nigiri (two pieces), and a salmon deluxe roll to split amongst four people. For dessert, we got the specialty matcha creme brulee, which I was very excited about! The food here is decent. The beef in the beef teriyaki is a bit tough, salmon teriyaki had a good texture to it. The chirashi bowl came with a good variety of fish & some tamagoyaki! I had no complaints about my salmon sashimi, it was very delicious and not too "fishy". The salmon nigiri comes with a bit of wasabi on top of the rice and below the salmon, so if you're not a fan of wasabi (I'm not) make sure to tell them you can go without it. The salmon deluxe rolls were good! Unfortunately, the matcha creme brulee was a little more hyped up in my mind. The matcha flavor wasn't too strong and the brulee wasn't as custardy as I would've hoped! It was a bit cakey/thick. Overall, pretty good meal and the service was nice. The waitress was sweet, and they pass by pretty often just since it's a small establishment so it's easy to get their attention. Overall, I'd come here again. Convenient location on De Anza & good Japanese food makes for a great combination!

First time coming here, and I was expecting a large building, as my mom and I wasn't sure where the entrance was lol but this was super cute & i would intimate location. I honestly liked it the feeling. It was clean and i liked how they have a patio seating for the warmer weather, and it was just lovely. Food was good and service was excellent. The ladies were super nice, attentive and the food came out beautifully. My mom ordered the lunch combo special, with the teriyaki beef & salmon. She said the beef was super tender, and the salmon was delicious. She normally doesn't finish her food if she doesn't like it, but she did this time. I ordered 2 rolls: Dragon & Tempura. Both were delicious that i finished them both. I wasn't feeling hungry, but i guess I was. I will definitely come back when I'm in the cupertino area!

We ordered omakase sashimi special, omakase sushi special, unagi nigiri, dragon roll, spider roll, rainbow row, and cold soba. It's not an actual omakase sushi dinner which involves being served each dish individually and in succession. It was more like an omakase dinner platter with lots of yummy sushi. Sushi was good and service too. It wasn't amazing so my search for mouth watering sushi continues.

Went for Lunch Food - 4/5. Nigiri was very uniform with good flavor on the rice. Fish was alright being on the leaner side. Spicy tuna roll had a decent kick to it and the scallions added a nice bite. Miso soup was light and mellow. Service - 4/5. Fast and courteous service. Value - 3/5. Their lunch menu pricing only applies to their bento combination which doesn't offer sushi as the main. Despite the name, the nigiri special is priced the same as during dinner. Their nigiri combo pricing isn't outrageous, but it is on the higher side for what amounts to run-of-the-mill sushi. Parking - Mall Lot (Free)

I had a wonderful meal here -- they're quick, the fish is fresh and delicious, and the service is great. What more could you ask for? I came in late, sat at the chef's counter and ordered the Special Dinner. It was huge. The miso and salad were the perfect starters -- both delicious. Then came the large fish plate with both sashimi and nigiri. All of it was incredible! This is how sushi is supposed to taste. The tempura was also good, but I don't usually eat fried food, so I couldn't finish it all. It's a quaint space, but the decor makes you feel like you're exactly where you're supposed to be. Do yourself a favor and give them a try if you haven't already, or go here again. Get the sushi - you won't be disappointed.

Came by for lunch the other day and it was a decent experience. Parking is available in the private lot or on the nearby residential streets. Dining is available indoors in the air conditioned dining room or on the patio with umbrellas. Their whiteboard have a ton of specials which are worth checking out. Started off with the eggplant agedashi and this was lightly fried fresh eggplant in a bed of light soy sauce dopped with some grated radish and green onions. Moved on to the grilled chicken wings from the whiteboard and they were fantastic. Super fresh chicken wings and grilled to perfection while being juicy! The dragon roll was pretty decent with shrimp tempura on the inside, avocado and eel on the outside. The gyoza and tempura bento box was huge and came with a side of miso soup, salad, and rice. The tempura was decently fried and the highlight was the homemade gyoza which was freshly pan-fried. ~$33/head after tax and gratuity for lunch with plenty of leftovers.
